With a strong background in economics and a specialization in port and maritime logistics, Rosanne began her professional journey as a researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In this role, she conducted studies for focusing on topics like maritime innovations, labor market dynamics, and economic impacts. This analytical experience gave her an understanding of the strategic challenges within the maritime sector.
Driven by a desire to translate research findings into concrete actions, she joined Netherlands Maritime Technology (NMT) as an Innovation Project Manager. This role allows her to combine her passion for research with a hands-on approach, working closely with shipyards, maritime suppliers, and other stakeholders to advance sustainable innovation in the maritime industry.
Her role in CirclesofLife and WP5
Rosanne plays a role in the European project CirclesOfLife, which aims to integrate circularity into shipbuilding and maintenance. She is particularly involved in Work Package 5 (WP5), which focuses on communication and dissemination of the training, including training and skills development to support the transition towards a more sustainable maritime ecosystem.
WP5 aims to:
- Develop training programs tailored to industry professionals, helping them integrate sustainable and circular economy principles into their practices.
- Create stakeholder communities, facilitating knowledge exchange and encouraging collaborations among maritime actors.
- Design educational resources and awareness tools, ensuring a broader dissemination of best practices in sustainability.
The objective of Rosanne is to connect the tools and training programs developed in CirclesOfLife with the practical needs of shipyards, engineers, and decision-makers.
A bridge between strategic thinking and concrete action
She sees her role as balancing strategy and operational implementation, striving to connect maritime stakeholders around innovative and sustainable solutions. Her approach is characterized by a combination of scientific rigor, communication skills, and the ability to create collaborations.
Always attentive and passionate about human interactions, Rosanne aims to maximize the impact of the projects she is involved in while contributing to a more environmentally responsible maritime future.
