NGO Shipbreaking Platform is a worldwide coalition of environmental, human and labour rights organisations advocating for safe and environmentally sound dismantling of end-of-life ships. Being part of the CirclesOfLife consortium, their mission is to raise awareness and act for a sustainable and safe shipbreaking. In their work, they open public opinion’s eyes on current dangerous practices of the sector, denounce bad practices such as dumping ships on beaches, and advocate for wide adoption of the best available techniques that do not harm workers and the planet.

The event’s goal is to gather progressive and visionary forward-thinking stakeholders from the maritime, recycling and steel sectors, financial institutions and policy makers to showcase and exchange ideas for best practices and strategies for ship dismantling, design, waste management and material recovery in line with ethical circular policy goals. Divided into several thematic panels – from innovations, through financing, to industrial and policy leadership – this 2-day interactive conference will be a perfect opportunity to brainstorm and develop the ship recycling of the future.

Providing visibility to companies that have developed solutions, including innovative techniques, new state-of-the-art waste handling procedures, cradle-to-cradle concept design, and clean steel breakthrough technologies aimed at achieving a zero-carbon steel making process, the Lab intends to set the bar for tomorrow’s ship recycling

CirclesOfLife will be proudly present at the Ship Recycling Lab, showcasing the development of the Shipyard Environmental Performance Index and the Ship Material Passport – our innovative solutions that put circularity in practice.

Come join us and 100+ progressive stakeholders for networking opportunities, inspiring keynote speaker sessions, thought-provoking presentations and interactive panel discussions.
