VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is one of Europe’s leading research institutions. VTT is owned by the Finnish state. This Innovation Action is well in line with VTT’s strategic agenda to reach a carbon neutral process industry, sustainable manufacturing and recovery of materials from secondary streams. VTT has expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA) methods and tools, development of sustainability assessment methodologies and indicators, circular economy, material and product passports in the building industry.
VTT will work on the SEPI concept and identify hot spots of emissions within the shipyard processes and identify the actual reduction of emissions over the life cycle. The Circles of Life project enhances our capabilities in maritime sector to evaluate and mitigate emissions from the construction phase of ships. VTT will provide access to the Transport technology platform & research infrastructure for clean and smart transport. VTT will define the required content and provide the guidelines for implementation and support the technical validation of the Ship Lifecycle Passport.
