CirclesOfLife has launched a new survey aimed at improving understanding of the current ship recycling market and the competitiveness factors that shape it.

The project brings together stakeholders from across the entire shipyards operations chain to collaboratively address the critical challenges that must be overcome to achieve sustainable, circular practices.

To support the case study on ship recycling, this survey represents an important step in mapping both the regulatory and market issues faced by ship recycling yards, as well as the decision-making dynamics of their clients, including shipowners.

The dual objective is to:

• Identify key challenges affecting competition within the ship recycling sector; and

• Understand how client expectations can better align with existing ship-recycling rules and practices.

The survey is designed for both recycling yards and their clients and requires approximately 10 minutes to complete. All responses will be treated anonymously, and participants may optionally provide contact details if they wish to receive and comment on a summary of the overall results. All collected data will be handled in full compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
